Farmer/Investor Story
Bill Godowns — Farmer
Bill, a third-generation farmer, has been farming for over three decades, inheriting the land from his father who started farming in 1983. He now farms 2700 acres — mostly row crops such as cotton, peanut, and corn, with a 3-year crop rotation. Bill is continuing to pass down his family legacy of farming to his son where they split operations and equipment.
“You gotta take care of the land”, says Bill. Bill takes great pride in taking care of the land and ensures that his farming practices are sustainable. He has been using regenerative practices such as green cover crops all winter, minimal tillage, and a soil microbiome solution called Biolevel. He tracks the chemicals utilizing technology such as John Deere Data and MachineOps.
Bill loves being transparent and is proud of the work he does to take care of the land.
